O RLY?

So starting now, I’m trying to blog with tumblr and see if I can get myself to blog more this way. As you could see, my blog was pretty much neglected for some time and most of my ramblings has been moved to twitter. Let’s see if using tumblr lowers my inhibition to post stuff in more than 140 characters. Hit http://orly.ch/ for the shiny new tumblr blog.

I dropped the blog from the domain name for two reason: technical to make redirects easier (since I wouldn’t be able to do that on tumblr) and originally. Secondly, I intended to orly.ch without blog to be a general ‘about me’ page but that ou.jiayong.name is doing that part now, so orly.ch is only blog (and some other toy projects).

If you’ve been subscribing my feed, your feed should be automatically redirected.

Since tumblr can’t import posts from other blogs, I just leave my old blog running as it is at http://oldblog.orly.ch/. If anybody cares.

Finally got around actually doing something in Ruby instead of always planning to do so. The result is Yet Another URL Shortifyer (YAURLS), yet another URL minifiyer, yet another piece of software called "Yet Another ...", with a live instance at http://srs.li and with sources under MIT license.

I do know that there are countless others, but well... I already had the domain lying around and coding was fun.

It's using Camping, a Ruby microframework (with only 4kb of code), the main app is contained in one 350 line file (a little less than 500 including config and CSS).

Inspired by Leo's delicious friends and needing a project to play around with Okapi, I've created the Not Only Adult Friend Finder (a ultra cheap pun to Adult Friend Finder and yes, I think you're lying if you say you haven't seen their ads).

It looks at people you follow, collect the poeple they're following and sort the list by how many times it has seen someone.

Only the results for myself is public here because it makes quite a few requests to the Twitter API. If you want to see results for others, deploy your own instance or drop a message to @jiayongou.
